RIDA T.S. develops training activities around the equipment, systems and responsibilities of industrial teams. Programs can support graduate development, technical skills, project handover and the continuing development of operations and maintenance personnel.

Training requirements are defined with the client so that the subjects, participants and expected competencies reflect the facility and the work its teams perform.

Technical Training for Operating Teams

Training can address the systems that personnel must operate, maintain or supervise. Depending on the client’s needs, subjects may include metering equipment, industrial instrumentation, automation and SCADA systems, maintenance practices and project execution interfaces.

For operations and maintenance teams, the useful starting point is a defined task: what personnel need to understand, what they need to do and how their competence will be assessed. Equipment documentation, operating procedures and practical exercises can then be incorporated where applicable.

Training During Project Handover

Technical training also forms part of the transition from project delivery to operation. On RIDA T.S.’s Acid Plant Renovation project, operator training and familiarization were included alongside commissioning and handover of the renovated chemical handling systems.

For a new or modified facility, a handover program should reflect the systems delivered and the duties of the people receiving them. Its scope can be agreed during project planning and completed as the equipment becomes available for inspection, testing and operation.

How a Training Program Is Defined?

RIDA T.S. works with the client to identify the target roles, technical subjects and expected outcomes. The program can then be structured around an appropriate combination of instruction, workshops and practical activities, followed by a review of learning against the agreed objectives.

Where a formal competence framework is required, ISO 10015:2019 provides guidance on competence management and people development. Specialist qualifications should be defined separately with the relevant issuing organization; for example, the International Society of Automation publishes information on its own automation training and certificate programs. These references do not imply that RIDA T.S. issues ISO or ISA certifications.
