RIDA T.S – Libya (Company) is conscious of the increasing degradation of the environment resulting from human activities, and iscommitted to minimising such degradation and safeguarding the environment for future generations.
In line with this principle the Company is committed to ensure the prevention and the minimisation of the environmental impacts arisenfrom its operations throughout the continuous improvement of the Company environmental performances.
The Company Policy address, through the compliance with all applicable legislations and standards, to conduct all its activities in orderto pursue the following principles:
- To prevent damage to the environment applying Environmental Impact Assessment procedure in relation to both existing and planned operations and from seismic exploration to decommissioning phases
- To aim at meaningfully protecting socio-economic structures and the environment
- To consider cumulative effects on the receiving environment
- To prevent and minimise the environmental impacts of water consumption and discharges andhazardous and non-hazardouswastes disposal
- To minimise or optimise the use of chemicals or substitute less toxic chemicals
- To require that contractors, subcontractors, and all parties working on their behalf to fullybe in compliance with Company Environmental requirements
- To undertake appropriate reviews and evaluations of its operations to measure progress and to ensure compliance with this policy.
Each employee is responsible for environmental protection relevant to all tasks performed by themselves or by the personnel under their control. They are required to report to their supervisor any environmentally damaging acts or conditions, no matter how minor they may seem. This includes identifying potential risks before they escalate into larger environmental issues.
All personnel must be adequately trained in both general awareness of environmental issues and specific procedures aimed at avoiding environmental damage. This training is designed to equip employees with the knowledge and skills they need to contribute meaningfully to the Company’s environmental goals, ensuring that the best practicable environmental performances are achieved across all levels of the organisation.
The Company Policy is widespread and well known to all employees and contractors. It is also made available, on request, to the public, reflecting our commitment to transparency and accountability in all environmental matters.
